Office 365 will retire TLS 1.0 and 1.1 starting June 1st, 2020 in Worldwide and GCC Environments

Recently Microsoft announced the update about TLS: “Office 365 will retire TLS 1.0 and 1.1 starting June 1st, 2020 in Worldwide and GCC Environments” which means that all connections to Office 365 using the protocols TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 will not work After June 1st, 2020.

This year Formpipe must also announce to our supporters, end-customers and resellers that running Lasernet mail connections to Office 365, via the Exchange module, will not work for incoming or outgoing email after the announced date, since the Exchange module supports TLS 1.0 only.

We can suggest two solutions:

  1. Upgrade their running solution to Lasernet 9.6 or newer, where we introduced the Outlook 365 module supporting TLS 1.2, and with similar functionality to the Exchange module
  2. If they do not want to upgrade the software to the 9-series, they must verify whether the Mail Input (IMAP) or Mail Output (SMTP) meets their requirements or not, since this module has support for TLS 1.2 from Lasernet 8, but with different functionality compared to the Exchange and Outlook 365 modules. Lasernet 7 and older versions cannot guaranteed to be supported and is out of maintenance.
