On the report you have the section archive:

    1. Archive:

Default means yes - all generated reports go to archive.

Manually means that the user can choose if the report should go to the archive.

No means that none of the generated reports should go to journals.

Normally you have either Default or No. All static reports as sales confirmation, sales packing slip, sales invoice go to journal           and dynamic reports at account statement do not.

    2. Destinations to archive:

All documents generated is getting saved in the archive, means that if you use "Force rerun" all versions are saved in the                     archive.

First only the first generated document is saved to the archive, all others with not be saved.

Last only last generated document is saved to the archive and overwrites the previous archived report.

    3. Table for archive: The AX table that archives the data

    4. Save in: That could be file folder, share point, blob (2012 LAC)

    5. Subfolder mask: This means that there is a folder for each day.

    6. Save XML:

Yes the XML file is stored in the archive and can be seen "Show XML"

No the XML is not stored in the archive and cannot be seen when you click "Show XML"

    7. Allow forced rerun: Where it is allowed to rerun the journal. Normally it's set to on forms and archive.

    8. Resend menu item: Where you are allowed to resend the journal.

    9. PDF: where to send the PDF to archive. (2012 LAC)

XML: where to send the XML to archive. (2012 LAC)

In LACArchiveData the patch for the PDF in the archive is located - so when an end-user click "Lasernet Original preview" or "Resend" then the right file is brought to you or resend to the customer using this path.

So AX needs to have these paths to be able to fetch the right archived report.

Best practice for archive setup:
1. Archive:
Do not archive reports as Customer Account statement, Labels and other dynamic reports. Only archive the reports you have to for legal reasons or for business process reasons

2. Destinations to archive:

Last, will save the first one and give you the possibility to rerun and send it to the customer again, and the archive will overwrite that version and store the last version.

Make sure you are only saving the "Last" not "All" again to prevent making your archive bigger.

6. Save XML

If you have check mark in "Save XML" and you're in a production environment. Remove that check mark to prevent making your archive bigger.

Type XML is only used in developer situations or error handling. So should only be on in the test environment.

7. Allow forced rerun:

Remove the possibility to "Force rerun" in your production environment. Every force rerun is one more record in the LACArchiveData if the Destinations to archive "ALL".

LAC365FO Version 6.9.0.2

Option to get a lookup for the "Resend Menu Item" for the replacement reports (if used/selected)

In a previous version of LAC365FO, it was not possible to “lookup” the values in the Resend menu item.

It required either manually entering the value or copying the value from the SSRS report.

LAC365FO version 6.9.0.2 now shows the value within the lookup when a report is used as a replacement report for an SSRS-report.

It requires the Query report to be specified as a replacement report for the SSRS-report. This approach ensures the replacement-report (Query report) is aware of which SSRS report it’s replacing.
