This article provides a guide line on how to upgrade to the latest Lasernet Connector for Business Central.

Backup


Before we start upgrading, it is recommended that you backup your configuration by using the backup tools provided by Formpipe. Please follow this order when exporting..




If you have version 3.0.0.9 or later, then follow this order:



Uninstall



After the backup are done, we need to uninstall the Lasernet Connector. Please sign into Business Central with admin rights and open Extension.


Locate the Lasernet Connector and click on the ... and select Uninstall.



Make sure Delete Extension Data are not selected.



Next step is to Unpublish the Lasernet Connector. For On-Premise, Powershell can be used.



Lasernet data will not be lost because it does not delete the Lasernet tables !!

Installing


Please see this article for how to install Lasernet again.


1. Installation


When done, please remember to synchronize 



Within the Lasernet Connector


Please sign into Business Central again.


Select Lasernet Document Mgt. (If you cannot see it as the picture below, then please search for it) - Setup - Lasernet Report Template Code.



From the top menu, select Reset Templates. This will reload all the reports from the new version. 



The new reports can then be selected within the different Report Selections.



If you are upgrading from version 3.0.0.7 or newer, then the following steps can be discard


Select Lasernet Document Mgt. (If you cannot see it as the picture below, then please search for it) - Setup - Data Formats.



From the top menu, select Suggest.



This will give you our suggestion on the different formats. Please add you own if needed. For more information about Data Formats please see: 2.5 Data Formats


Now we need to setup where we want to use the formats. Select Lasernet Document Mgt. (If you cannot see it as the picture below, then please search for it) - Setup - Usage Data Formats.



Select Suggest from the top menu.



This will give you our suggestion on the different formats. Please add you own if needed. For more information about Usage Data Formats please see: 2.6 Usage Data Formats


Restore backup


If your Lasernet data is lost and only if the Lasernet data are lost, please import your backup in the same order as you did the export.
